Overview

Jinjang Satay | 增江福豪美味沙爹 stands as a notable culinary spot nestled within the bustling enclave of Jinjang Utara, Kuala Lumpur. Located at 2145-2153 Jalan Jinjang Aman 3, this satay restaurant offers an authentic yet distinct take on Malaysian street food, particularly satay and grilled dishes. Its setting, embedded within a lively food court adjacent to a wet market, gives diners an immersive local experience that appeals to both residents and adventurous food lovers seeking unpretentious flavors.

The heart of Jinjang Satay’s menu centers on its pork and chicken satay—skewers grilled to juicy perfection and served with a sauce that deviates from the traditional Malay style but still manages to complement the meat well. Reviewers frequently highlight the pork satay for its texture and balanced flavor, making it a standout choice for anyone exploring local satay varieties. Alongside, the grilled chicken wings are a crowd favorite, offering a smoky, succulent bite that is often described as “mouth-licking.”

Beyond satay, Jinjang Satay expands its repertoire to include regional delicacies such as Hokkien noodles and Thai BBQ pork, broadening its appeal. While some find the Hokkien mee less remarkable, it remains a comforting dish that reflects the stall’s place within a diverse wet market food scene. Additional offerings like salt-baked fish and barbecued seafood provide variety for diners looking to sample a range of Malay and Chinese-influenced flavors in a casual, almost bazaar-like atmosphere.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is informal but vibrant, typical of a local Chinese food court setting amid a densely populated neighborhood. This environment is especially welcoming to those who appreciate food rich in local heritage and are unbothered by the rustic surroundings. Parking is convenient for visitors during the evening hours, further easing access to this hidden gem.

Jinjang Satay’s target audience includes both local families and tourists keen on sampling authentic Malaysian satay and other grilled delicacies in a genuine market environment. Its blend of pork and chicken satay, grilled specialties, and accompanying sauces offers a textured taste of Kuala Lumpur’s multicultural food scene, nestled in a humble yet authentic setting.

Pork satay. Go for pork satay. Sauce isn't like how the Malays do, but it's passable. The best is still the pork satay.

A food court in the wet market. There are stalls selling mouth licking "Fu Jian" noodles and few stalls that sell satay and chicken wings. Must try their chicken wings!

The salt baked fish is really good and reasonably priced. Juicy and fresh fish! Their Thai style chilli sauce is a great accompaniment to the fish and other seafood. This stall also serves barbecue squid, blood cockles and duck. Other stalls like the noodle stall also comes highly recommended. I had their hokkien mee and yin yong noodle which are tasty. Pork and lamb satay were slightly above average but go for the fish and noodles instead. You will not be missing anything great.

Surprisingly it is in the middle of dense population quarter, it is food stall and some other shop are also there. I think it looks like more to bazar in day time. Also my first time trying Pork Satay in KL. Taste is good and juicy. Reasonable price and good texture. Must try in hidden gems list. Parking is nearby but it is local (typical chinese place) and night time can park easily.

Only 80sen a piece what else can you complain? Portion is per the price as well. Pork satay a bit small but chicken is ok. Taste is decent too. Been patron-ing for many years.
